In the same 25 minutes it takes some people to drive home, watch a television show, or eat a meal, a child could learn the tools needed to stay safe. In recognition of the annual "Take 25" program created by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, the Arlington Police Department is partnering with the Arlington Independent School District and encouraging parents to "Take 25" minutes and talk to their children about being safe going to and from school, on the Internet and at home.

Each year near National Missing Children's Day, which is May 25, the Arlington Police Department looks for ways to discuss child safety.

To recognize that special day, Arlington Police Chief Will Johnson and Arlington Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Marcelo Cavazos will speak to 4th, 5th and 6th grade students at Pope Elementary School (901 Chestnut Drive in Arlington) on Friday, May 22, 2015, at 1:30 p.m.

Families are encouraged to go to www.arlingtonpd.org or www.take25.org for tips on how to talk to kids. Articles-Police
