Darryl Lauster Helping UTA Students to Dream Big, Maximize Creativity

Darryl Lauster is a highly-acclaimed Intermedia artist and educator who has chosen to make Arlington and The University of Texas at Arlington his home where he lives his dream and helps others do the same.

He is currently an Associate Professor of Sculpture at UT Arlington.

Lauster is the founder of the Samuel Gray Society, an institute dedicated to 18th century American history. His work is based in the research of American history and mythology, and utilizes digital media, printmaking, sculpture and installation.

He has exhibited nationally at the Louise Wells Cameron Museum of Art, The Urban Center for Contemporary Art, Appalachian State University, Millennium Plaza Park, the Nicolaysen Art Museum, the John Michael Kohler Foundation and the Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston.

His work can also be found in the permanent collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The University of Texas at Arlington, McNeese State University and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

We talked to the UTA Professor about living his American Dream and mentoring the young creative students at UT Arlington.
