2015 Nastia Liukin Cup & AT&T American Cup

It's a gymnastics filled weekend in The American Dream City! The 2015 Nastia Liukin Cup will take place March 6 at 7:00 p.m. at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and will be broadcast live on on Universal Sports. Tickets can be purchased online at Ticketmaster. On Saturday, March 7, the 2015 AT&T American Cup takes center stage at AT&T Stadium at 10:30 a.m. NBC will broadcast the event from 12-2 p.m. CT. The AT&T American Cup has been a part of the International Gymnastics Federation 's all-around World Cup Series from 2011-15. Tickets for that event can also be purchased online at Ticketmaster. This is the first time either event has been held in a football stadium.

AISD Youth Art Month at Arlington Museum of Art

Each Spring, the Arlington Museum of Art works collaboratively with the Arlington Independent School District to give students grades K-12 the opportunity to display their pieces, done in a wide variety of mediums, to the general public. Six weeks are dedicated to this exhibition. It is held in conjunction with National Youth Art Month and Youth Art Month work on display in Austin, Texas at the Capitol building. Receptions are scheduled for artists and family on Friday, March 6 at 5 p.m. (Arlington/Lamar High Schools) and Friday, March 20 at 5 p.m. (Martin/Sam Houston High Schools). Artwork from Seguin and Bowie High Schools is also featured at the museum.

25th Annual UT Arlington African-American Alumni Banquet

UT Arlington African-American Alumni Chapter celebrates 25 years of memories at the "Maverick Masquerade Banquet." The chapter has a fun filled weekend planned to celebrate in style. Friday, March 6: Come enjoy a night of jazz music at the Arlington Museum of Art starting at 6:30 p.m. And then on Saturday, March 7: The Annual Scholarship Endowment Banquet will be held on campus in the Bluebonnet Ballroom, located in the University Center at UTA starting at 6 p.m. Tickets for the banquet are $65 and all proceeds benefit the African American Endowed Scholarship Fund.

Opening Weekend at Six Flags Over Texas

You don 't want to miss the start of the 2015 season at Six Flags Over Texas! Your first chance to return to the park will be this weekend, Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March​ 8. Opening weekend was supposed to take place last weekend, but the park was forced to close due to inclement weather. To celebrate Opening Weekend in Arlington, the park is offering exclusive discounts on funnel cakes and admission tickets, and they will have other great perks and surprises all weekend long. Six Flags Over Texas will be open both days in The American Dream City from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Park hours vary throughout the 2015 season, so please visit the Six Flags Over Texas website for more information. Disney 's The Little Mermaid JR.

Theatre Arlington continues to present a Disney classic this weekend the whole family can enjoy! Disney 's The Little Mermaid JR. takes the audience on a journey "under the sea" with Ariel and her aquatic friends. Shows are Friday & Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. The Little Mermaid JR. runs until this Sunday, March 8 at Theatre Arlington and then moves to UTA 's Texas Hall for special performances on March 17 and 18. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online. No children under the age of three are permitted.
