In the same 25 minutes it takes some people to drive home, watch their favorite television show, or enjoy a meal, a child could learn the tools needed to stay safe.

The Take 25 program was created by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Every year, the Arlington Police Department partners with the Arlington Independent School District to encourage parents to take 25 minutes and talk to their children about safety. Officers say this discussion should include stranger danger and Internet safety as well.

If you have information about a missing child or suspected child sexual exploitation, report it to the Arlington Police Department by calling 9-1-1 and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.

Child safety is a national and local priority. Visit www.take25.org for tips on how to start the conversation or call the APD Community Support Division at 817-459-5725 for more helpful information.
