UT Arlington Hosts Arkansas State Saturday Night

UT Arlington finishes off a two-game homestand at College Park Center against Arkansas State on Saturday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. following the UTA-ASU women's game.

The Mavericks have dropped the last two games to fall to 8-6 overall and 2-2 in the Sun Belt Conference. UTA is 13-38 all-time vs. Arkansas State, losing both last year in league play and the last 13 in the series.

The Mavericks lost 76-73 in overtime to ULM on Thursday. UTA led by nine points (54-45) with nine minutes left in regulation. ULM outscored UTA 47-39 in the second half and 9-6 in OT. The Mavs have lost their last two games when leading at halftime after winning the first seven.

Junior guard Johnny Hill tied season high with 19 points, adding five rebounds and five assists. Hill is averaging 16.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.3 assists in SBC action. Freshman guard Kaelon Wilson scored a season-high 16 against ULM, with seven rebounds and two blocks.

UT Arlington coach Scott Cross has used eight different starting lineups. The same starting five was used in first six games before seven different lineups were used in the eight. No player has started all 13 games, but Hill and senior guard Jamel Outler have started all four SBC games.

RADIO HOME: Radio broadcasts are on KKGM 1630 AM and sister station KHVN 970 AM. Broadcast includes a pregame show 20 minutes before tip and a postgame show. Josh Sours is the play-by-play voice of the Mavericks.
