Champions Park Breaks Ground at Northeast Corner of I-30 in Arlington

City officials and members of the Arlington community gathered for a groundbreaking ceremony today, December 10, 2015, for the 14-acre Champions Park mixed-use development located at the northeast corner of Interstate 30 and Collins Street in the Entertainment District.

Greenway Investment Company broke ground today to mark the start of construction for Champions Park-; Phase I. The project will include 4 retail/restaurant buildings totaling 54,000 square feet of inline space. In addition, there will be four premier restaurant sites nestled into a half-acre festival park area.

Phase I is slated for completion by the fall of 2016. Torchy's Tacos and Tokyo Joe's are the first restaurant leases to be signed, and Greenway is working leases with several other high profile restaurants and retailers. Names will be released upon fully executed leases.

This retail center was designed by Lisa Swift GSO Architects. Project engineer is Eric Seeley with Graham & Associates. Construction Lender, Bank of Texas, Kim Kittle. The general contractor is Novel Builders. The project will be managed by Pritchard Associates. Leasing broker is Thomas Glendenning of The Shop Companies.

Champions Park is part of Arlington City Council's priority to "Invest in Our Economy," which Council has identified as a component of the effort to ensure that the Arlington community continues to thrive.
