Texas History Day at Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas provides a special experience with Texas History Day on Friday, May 1 where you'll be able to visit with characters straight out of our state history! Performers provide a unique first-person perspective of life on the Texas frontier so you can truly grasp the essence of Texas' rich history. The experience will also allow park visitors to learn about the park's history (spanning over 50 years) and how Six Flags Over Texas was developed. Texas History Day will be held from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Special rates are available and groups that order in advance will receive one free chaperone ticket for every 20 tickets purchased.

Arlington Public Library and UT Arlington Celebrate Dia!

Diversity in Action, or Dia!, is a nationally recognized initiative that emphasizes the importance of literacy for all children from all backgrounds. Arlington: the American Dream City is joining in and celebrating from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 2 at the Mavericks Activity Center (MAC), 500 W. Nedderman St. Dia! is an enhancement of Children's Day, a world-wide celebration intended to bring attention to the importance and well-being of children, celebrated in Latin America on April 30. The celebration will include crafts, music, snacks, dancers and even bilingual story time!

Draft Day at AT&T Stadium

Each year, the NFL Draft provides hundreds of college athletes the chance to fulfill their dreams of playing professional football. And you can watch the opening night unfold at AT&T Stadium in Arlington for the Cowboys Draft Day. There will be appearances by former and current players, as well as autograph and photo opportunities. The Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders will also be on for the event. Draft Day starts at 6 p.m. at the Miller Lite West Plaza with free parking and admission. There will also be a Cowboys Carnival on Saturday, May 2, for Day 3 of the NFL Draft. The event features carnival rides, games, live music and more from 12-5 p.m.

Oakland Athletics vs. Texas Rangers Series

The Rangers are home in The American Dream City this weekend for a three-game series against the Oakland Athletics. The team takes on the AL West opponent at 7:05 p.m. CT both Friday and Saturday and then on Sunday, first pitch is at 2:05 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at the team's website or at the Globe Life Park box office. The Rangers won't be back in Arlington after this series until Monday, May 11 for a home series against the Kansas City Royals. Globe Life Park in Arlington is located at 1000 Ballpark Way.
