Arlington Gives!

Arlington rally kicks off North Texas Giving Day with $60,000 in grants awarded to Arlington charities

Two lucky charitable organizations will walk away with sizable checks on Thursday, Sept. 18, when Arlington kicks off North Texas Giving Day at the Levitt Pavilion in Downtown Arlington.

  1. Arlington's Women Inspiring Philanthropy will announce the recipient of its second $50,000 grant during the event, and
  2. Arlington Tomorrow Foundation President and City of Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck will award a $10,000 Arlington Tomorrow Foundation grant to an Arlington nonprofit just for showing up!

More than 60 Arlington-based charitable organizations are invited to attend the kick-off event, which begins promptly at 7:30 a.m.

  • Representatives from eligible organizations must be in attendance at the event in order to be considered for the $10,000 Arlington Tomorrow Foundation grant.
  • Eligible organizations are those with an address in Arlington and who are participating in North Texas Giving Day, the sixth annual online giving event organized by the Communities Foundation of Texas.
  • After the morning's kick-off, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation will give away four additional $5,000 grants to the organization that has the most donors during the day-long giving day (not total money, but number of unique donors) between 6 a.m. and noon, noon and 2 p.m., 2 and 6 p.m., and 6 p.m. and midnight. Donor numbers will be monitored by Arlington Tomorrow Foundation staff from Communities Foundation of Texas reports.

Arlington's kick-off is the first public event of the day for North Texas Giving Day. Rallies are planned in Fort Worth at 9:30 a.m. and in Dallas at 11:00 a.m. The Arlington event is sponsored by the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation, the City of Arlington, Downtown Arlington Management Corp., and Women Inspiring Philanthropy.
