The Texas Numismatic Association (TNA) is bringing its annual Coin & Currency Show to the beautiful Arlington Convention Center, 1200 Ball Park Way. A major attraction at the May 16-18 show will be a portion of the Rowe-Barr Collection of Texas Currency on loan from the SMU DeGolyer Library.
The collection is the most comprehensive in the United States, representing thousands of notes, scrip, bonds, and other financial obligations, issued in Texas between the 1820s and 1935. The collection includes two rare Arlington, Texas banknotes along with notes from Fort Worth, Dallas, Grapevine and North Ft.Worth. Also on display will be the American Numismatic Association's exhibit "A House Divided-The Money of the Civil War."The event will be a spectacular educational event for collectors and the general public.
Millions of dollars will be on display during this three-day event at the Arlington Convention Center. More than 200 dealers from across the country will be buying, selling and appraising rare coins, currency, gold and silver worth millions of dollars during this three-day event.
The first 1000 attendees will receive a free 2015 Red Book. A Boy Scout Merit Badge workshop will be held on Saturday at 12:30pm and two free youth auctions at 11:30am and 1pm. The TNA will also be raffling off five gold coins at the end of the show.
Lyn Knight Auctions, the official auctioneer of the TNA, will conduct a coin and currency auction with lot viewing available during the show. Show hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 on Sunday.
