Six Officers Saluted During Promotional Ceremony

In a promotional ceremony in the Council Chamber on Friday afternoon, the Arlington community celebrated more outstanding achievements in service and public safety. Jim Lowery, who has been acting as Assistant Chief, and LaTesha Watson, who has been assigned to North District Patrol, were both promoted to Deputy Chief. Lowery will assume command of the South Police District and Watson will assume command of the East Police District on Monday, July 21. During Friday's ceremony, Donald Fulbright and Kimberly Harris were each promoted to Lieutenant and Dylan Eckstrom and Megan Eilrich were promoted to Sergeant.

Police Chief Will Johnson shared their service histories and accommodations before reminding each officer of their duty and obligation to lead during times of challenge. The official pinning of the badge was captured by cell phone cameras throughout the room. Close friends and family members stepped forward to take part in this special moment. The promotional ceremony drew a host of special guests including City Council members, business leaders, city management, retired officers, community members and volunteers. Congratulations!
