Summer Soul

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED

New Life Fellowship Church in Arlington will come alive on Friday, July 25 as the Arlington Animal Services Center (AASC) hosts a summer soul celebration featuring 80s R&B/Soul duo Yarbrough & Peoples with a stellar supporting cast performing tributes to Al Green, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, and Stevie Wonder.

This concert is open to the public and will raise funds for AASC's Black Heritage Scholarship Program benefiting college-bound Arlington ISD and Mansfield ISD students.

"I have a passion for student achievement and music and this was a great way for our company to sponsor an event that will impact the children in Arlington and Mansfield," said Rod Kyle, Director of Events for Cool Jazz Forever. "If we want to improve our communities, we have to get involved with our children."

According to Animal Services Manager Chris Huff, students applying for scholarships will be required to "read one approved book about an historical figure, serve the community with the Arlington Animal Services Center, and complete a shelter-related project."

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the show begins at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door. For more information, please call 817-641-7695 or visit summersoullive.com.
