The Arlington Animals Services Center would like to invite area dog owners to bring their four-legged friends to Six Flags Over Texas on Saturday, March 1 for the park's first ever Wags and Flags event. The walk is from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Guests will have the unique opportunity to bring their dogs to the park for a leisurely stroll with the Silver Star Carousel, Superman Tower of Power and Titan as the backdrop.

Participants will receive a photo with their pooch to commemorate the day. Additionally, guests who donate at least five pounds of dog food will receive a special "Dog Days of Summer Bounce Back" coupon. The coupon allows one guest admission for $14.99 and is valid June 1- August 24, 2014. All pet food donations will benefit the Arlington Animal Services Center. Donations on Saturday will be accepted at the park's front gate from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The 2014 season promises to be filled with thrilling family fun from show-stopping performances to exciting special events and later this spring the opening of the all-new BUGS BUNNY Boomtown featuring ten attractions and refreshing shaded seating areas. At the heart of the new children's area, young thrill-seekers will enjoy new attractions, such as, Looney Tunes Adventure Camp - an interactive play structure where kids can climb, slide and discover fun surprises. Taz Tornado will have children spinning with glee as they twirl above the park in pint-sized swings. Tiny tikes will also enjoy seeking new heights on Bugs Bunny Cloud Bouncer. Marvin the Martian Space Rockets offers the perfect flight for future air-travelers as they climb aboard custom-designed rocket ships that let them control their own flight patterns. Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters gets everyone engaged in a fun water battle as riders spin round and round in water barrels, splashing anyone within reach.

"We're thrilled to offer our guests so much variety this season," said Steve Martindale, Six Flags Over Texas park president. "With more than 100 rides, shows and attractions, there's sure to be an entertainment element that will appeal to everyone in the family and will have them excited to visit us again and again throughout the year."

Six Flags Over Texas is also offering guests a special Opening Day weekend price to celebrate the start of the 2014 season. Guests can go online now to the park's website and purchase tickets for $19.99, plus tax. The park will be open weekends through May 11, plus daily for Spring Break, March 8- March 16 and March 20- March 23. For more information, go to sixflags.com/overtexas.
