 Library

The Arlington Public Library's popular children's reading program is back after a brief break! Head over to theSouthwest Branch Library on Saturday, February 22 from 10:30 a.m. to noon for this regularly scheduled program. It brings trained therapy dogs, especially trained to listen to young readers, to our library.

We start off with a "Doggie Parade" through the library to meet the dogs, then children, ages 5 and up, can come read to a patient dog for 15 minutes. Parents are encouraged to stay back and watch their child become comfortable reading to his or her canine buddy. At least four dog therapy organizations are now participating in this worthwhile literacy program.

Programs will all be on the fourth Saturday of the month, from February through April at the Southwest Branch Library. Online registration is not necessary but we encourage families tocome early and sign upfor a quarter hour time slot.
