United Way of Tarrant County wants residents to know they may be eligible for affordable health insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace.

You can attend an information session or request one-on-one attention to find out more about your healthcare options and they will help you sign up for coverage if you choose.

Residents who enroll by December 15 will have health insurance beginning on January 1, 2015. For those who aren't able to sign up by then, they can still enroll through February 15 for coverage that will begin March 1.

United Way of Tarrant County will be hosting an information session today, December 1, at the Arlington Public Central Library from 3-7 p.m.

The nonprofit organization is coordinating this and other events like it across Arlington and the community.

The organization received a $4.6 million dollar grant to lead a statewide effort to reach out and inform residents about accessing and signing up for healthcare.

Having and championing great neighborhoods is a priority for the City of Arlington and Mayor Robert Cluck.

Mayor Cluck will stop by the information session, as the City works with United Way to help everyone access healthcare, especially preventive care.

"Being able to see a doctor on a regular basis is important," Cluck said. "We know that having access to healthcare will help all of our families and individuals stay strong and healthy."

The next information and enrollment event is Saturday, Dec. 13, at UT Arlington.
