The Arlington ISD has been awarded the Fuel Up to Play 60 Hometown Grant of $10,000 from the Dallas Cowboys and local dairy council, Dairy MAX.

The $10,000 grant by the Cowboys includes Fuel Up to Play 60 Playground Stencils, paint and supplies to Arlington ISD.

Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck, Arlington ISD Superintendent, Dr. Marcelo Cavazos, Dallas Cowboys defensive end Jack Crawford and AISD students and parents were all in attendance for the event at Fitzgerald Elementary.

Volunteers from the school community painted stencils in a massive art project to help beautify the playground areas with a healthy purpose. After the ceremony, kids were invited to take part in painting artwork of their own.

Two-thirds of AISD schools are enrolled in Fuel Up to Play 60 and have increased activity in the program by 300% compared to last year.

The FUTP60 Hometown Grant program supports healthy nutrition and physical activity programs in schools to help meet their health and wellness goals.
