The Arlington Athletics division is bringing an action-packed game from the United Kingdom to the city limits of Arlington, Texas.

An official "Bubble Soccer" league will be available at the Elzie Odom Athletic Center, beginning October 7, 2014.

The Game is Simple

You wear a giant, inflatable bubble while playing soccer. Players go "bubble-to-bubble" while attempting to gain control of the ball and score for their team. "It definitely changes tackling in the game because you can't make contact with people's feet - as you get to the bubble first - so you're having to knock people of the ball instead," Bubble Football creator Lee Moseley said. "The fact is it doesn't hurt at all, it's like you are actually in a bubble and if you land just right you can bounce right back up on to your feet. Sometimes it's hard to get back up because you're laughing so much at other people."

Arlington's bubble soccer league will compete on Tuesday nights at Elzie Odom. Nine teams, consisting of 10 players per team, will be eligible to compete during the 8-game season.
