Levitt Arlington Kicks Off 2023 Spring Season This Friday, Followed by Inaugural DreamFest on Saturday

On April 28, Levitt Pavilion Arlington will launch the 2023 live music season with a pair of free concerts headlined by Even It Up, a Dallas-based Heart tribute band known for their authentic renditions of classic rock hits from legendary rockers Ann and Nancy Wilson.
Opening for Even It Up—The Ultimate Heart Tribute Band is Rachel Stacy, a long–running, Texas-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and Ray Wylie Hubbard collaborator who has performed at venues across the country.
Following the free concerts on Friday night, the Levitt will offer a new twist on opening weekend: the inaugural DreamFest 2023, a block-party styled festival happening from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 29. Open to the community, the event will feature a trio of free concerts and a plethora of family-friendly games and activities.
“We can’t wait to welcome visitors for Even It Up and Rachel Stacy on Friday night and the first-ever DreamFest on Saturday, which is going to be the perfect event to celebrate the opening of our new season,” said Letatia Teykl, Executive Director for Levitt Arlington.
“Hosting big events, new events, and community celebrations is one of the things the Levitt does best,” she continued. “We are proud to work with Mayor Ross’s advisory councils to produce a diverse offering of multicultural community celebrations throughout the year; the DreamFest is our mayor’s initiative and the latest in this ongoing event series.”
Added Jim Ross, Mayor of Arlington: “The City is delighted with the opportunity to help promote the inaugural DreamFest. The name is a nod to Arlington’s status as the American Dream City, and the festival celebrates Arlington as a place where people from all walks of life can live, work and play in pursuit of The American Dream. The Levitt is an outstanding example of this concept, so it’s the perfect setting for hosting this fun and inclusive community event.”
The DreamFest isn’t the only big event happening at the Levitt this season. In addition to two Levitt-hosted pre-season events that have already taken place (the Arlington American Muslim Celebration and the Arlington Asian Heritage Celebration), the venue will host Home Grown Arlington, an Arlington Music Friendly Community celebration of local music artists (happening June 4); the 2023 Arlington Juneteenth Celebration (in partnership with the Arlington chapter of Phi Beta Sigma, happening June 17); the Light Up Arlington Independence Day Celebration (happening July 3); and a Hispanic Heritage Celebration (happening Sept. 16).
About the Levitt’s free music series: Artists from a diversity of genres are set to take the stage during the spring season, which runs through Memorial Weekend. “We have a great mix of returning Levitt favorites and new-to-you artists representing Americana, country, rock, Tejano and more,” said Teykl. “All our opening acts highlight musical performers who call North Texas home, as part of the Levitt’s Share The Stage initiative supporting local artists. Since we started this effort in 2021, we’ve booked more than 100 local acts—many of them women artists, emerging artists, and artists of color—for paid gigs on the Levitt stage.”
Most concerts are on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and generally kick off at 7:30 p.m. Early arrival is encouraged. The summer series will kick off Memorial Day weekend and run through July 3; the fall series begins Labor Day weekend and wraps mid-October.
“We’re ready for another exciting season,” said Teykl. “If it’s been a minute since you went to a Levitt concert, or if you’ve yet to discover the Levitt experience, pack up your lawn chairs and head downtown. It’s free, it’s fun, and you won’t be disappointed!”
A member of a national network of performing arts spaces funded in part by Levitt Foundation, Levitt Arlington is one of the city’s premiere arts and entertainment destinations, noted for its annual series of free live music. The venue is located in the heart of the city in Founders Plaza (100 W. Abram St.), within walkable or short driving distance to a number of Downtown Arlington destinations, as well as Six Flags Over Texas, AT&T Stadium, and Globe Life Field. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and coolers to all shows (except for ticketed events).

DreamFest Activities: Bounce houses, lawn games, food trucks (including Mexican, barbecue, and halal), face painting, shopping, and more (including an appearance by Toro the Trailblazer, the Tarrant County College mascot).
