Here are a few ways you can enjoy your weekend in The American Dream City. 

Youth Art Month

From March 3-23, 2023, artwork by students from over 70 local schools will fill gallery walls that have previously held works by Pablo Picasso, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Salvador Dalí, Keith Haring, Kehinde Wiley, and other classic and modern masters at the Arlington Museum of Art. Since 1990, the Arlington Museum of Art has partnered with the Arlington Independent School District to host the city’s annual Youth Art Month show. Admission is free. Six Flags Over Texas Scream Break

Extend your Spring Break day with nighttime chills during Scream Break at Six Flags Over Texas 9 p.m. to midnight between March 11-18, 2023. The thrills include haunted houses, a scare zone, a freakshow, ghouls, and nightime rides on six major thrill rides. Stay late and experience this limited after-hours special event. Their army of ghouls take over Gotham City and aren’t holding back. Enjoy night rides on MR. FREEZE, BATMAN: The Ride, THE RIDDLER: Revenge, Texas SkyScreamer, CATWOMAN: Whip and our all-new AQUAMAN: Power Wave water coaster. Water Play

Join the Arlington Public Library at the East Library and Recreation’s Innovation Zone for some fun outdoor water play for toddlers 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2023.

44th Annual J. Gilligan’s St. Patrick’s Day Block Party

J. Gilligan’s Bar and Grill celebrates one of the biggest traditions in Downtown Arlington with the 44th Annual St. Patrick's Day Block Party. The fun begins at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2023, when they open their doors for lunch. It continues with the outside activities at 4 p.m. There will be performances by local bands such as Don McCloud Bag Pipes, September Moon, Morning People, Rockstrocity, Young Stars and Guitars, Nate Danner Band, and more. They will also have coloring activities, face painter and a balloon maker provided by Entertainment Crazy for the kids. There will be giveaways, food and drink specials all day long.
