TxDOT: Westbound I-20 Closed at I-820 Nightly Through Sept. 16, 2024

Want to stay in the know about the Texas Department of Transportation's Southeast Connector Project and how construction activity may affect your commute? Each Friday, the City of Arlington will share the latest information about the $2.1 billion project, which will rebuild and widen approximately 11 miles of I-20, I-820 and US 287 between now and 2027. 

 Residents can also add their contact information on the Southeast Connector Project website to receive updates directly via text or email. 

When complete, the Southeast Connector Project will tie in the east and southeast part of Tarrant County to the central part of the county while relieving congestion, increasing safety and improving efficiency for the entire Metroplex.

Please note: Speed limits are now reduced to 55 mph within the entire corridor.  

Main Lanes  

Westbound I-20 at I-820

• Through Sept. 16: Highway Closure: Westbound I-20 closed at I-820. 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.  

Northbound US 287 at Sublett Road

• Through Sept. 21: Northbound US 287 reduced to one lane at Sublett Road from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Southbound US 287 at Little Road

• Through Sept. 16: Southbound US 287 reduced to one lane at Little Road from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Northbound I-820 at Martin Street

• Through Sept. 16: Right lane closed on northbound I-820 at US 287 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Eastbound I-20 at Anglin Drive

• Through Sept. 21: Right lane closed on eastbound I-20 at Anglin Drive from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
• Through Dec. 20: Eastbound I-20 reduced to two lanes between Anglin Drive and I-820 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Northbound I-820 at Berry Street

• Through Sept. 10: Northbound I-820 reduced to one lane between Berry St. and Rosedale St.

Eastbound I-20 at US 287

• Through Sept. 10: Eastbound I-20 reduced to one lane of traffic at US 287 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
