The Junior League of Arlington (JLA) is excited to bring back a wonderful tradition to Arlington this holiday season with the third annual Festival of Trees. The event, held Dec. 2-23 at JLA’s Center for Community service on Pioneer Parkway, features a dazzling display of more than 50 trees decorated by local businesses, service organizations, and individuals.

During the event, the public is invited to view the trees and vote for their favorites. The tree that receives the most votes will receive a grant to the non-profit (501(c)3) organization of the tree sponsor’s choice. VIP viewings will be available, and the center is available to rent for holiday parties and other events during the festival. The public can also bid on Christmas trees and decorations at the conclusion of the event.

The Festival of Trees kicks off on Friday, Dec. 2 with Cookies with the Clauses from 6-8 p.m. Cookies with the Clauses is a night of family fun featuring reindeer games, photos with Santa, and take-home cookie decorating kits from Sugar Bee Sweets. “By officially opening Festival of Trees with Cookies with the Clauses, we hope to not only welcome Santa to town, but also to donate 125 cookie kits to the children at Safe Haven here in Arlington,” says JLA President April Benjamin.  As an added bonus, JLA is inviting the public to Cocoa with Santa and Storytime with Mrs. Claus on December 10 from 2-4 p.m. This event is free for the community and will be a must-do on your Christmas list!

The Festival of Trees will be open for viewing Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., as well as Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. The festival starts on Friday, Dec. 2 and concludes on Friday, Dec. 23.
