Jeremiah Barrera, a senior on Sam Houston High School’s cross country team, has been selected as the City of Arlington’s Student-Athlete of the Month for November 2022.

Barrera ran all the way to the UIL State Cross Country Meet in Round Rock this year, believed to be the first student-athlete in school history to do so.

“Jeremiah is one of those students who once he realized he had the potential being such a good runner, he really started working on the gift that God had given him,” Sam Houston Head Cross Country Coach Jaime Vasquez said.

Barrera, whose favorite subject is Science, plans on running in college while studying Business Management.
