A Knight’s Tale at the Arlington Museum of Art

Arlington Museum of Art’s newest exhibition is A Knight’s Tale. From the renowned collection of the Museo Stibbert in Florence, Italy, stunning examples of European arms and armor will fill the galleries this winter. One hundred and thirty rare objects, including full suits of armor, mounted equestrian figures, helmets, swords, and other weaponry, tell the tale of the European knight from the Middle Ages and Renaissance through the medieval revival of the nineteenth century. The exhibition explores the historical and functional contexts of arms and armor of this period while also highlighting the undeniable craftsmanship, beauty and artistic appeal. You can purchase tickets at the Museum or on the Museum’s website. The exhibition runs through Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023.

Senior Friendsgiving Lunch with Arlington Parks and Recreation

Leave the cooking and cleaning behind and come join Arlington Parks and Recreation’s Thanksgiving Luncheon for those 55 years of age and older at the East Library and Recreation Center 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022. It's the perfect opportunity to share the holiday season with others and enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings. They will have prizes and entertainment for your enjoyment. Intro to Pickleball

Pickleball is trending & you don't want to miss out! Join Arlington Parks and Recreation 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022 at Cliff Nelson Recreation Center for an introduction course covering the basics of Pickleball. Click here to register.

2022 World Cup Kick Off

Join the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department 6:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2022 at Bob Cooke Park. There will be food trucks, a DJ, adult beverages, vendors and more. North Texas SC will have a youth soccer skills clinic. Grab some friends and sign up as a team to compete in this single elimination futsal tournament. There is a maximum of 8 teams. Here Be Dragons: From Lizards to Legends 

Experience a celebration of dragons in literature, pop culture, history, and science at River Legacy Nature Center. Here Be Dragons: From Lizards to Legends brings these mythical creatures to life through artifacts, activities, and one-of-a-kind opportunities to interact with real-life lizards! Spice Club celebrates Thanksgiving 

Are you still planning your Thanksgiving menu? The Arlington Public Library can help! The Spice Club celebrates Thanksgiving 12:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022 at the Southeast Branch Library. Check out new cookbooks and recipes or bring a favorite recipe of yours to share. Receive a take-and-make kit featuring a spice, herbs, or blends that you can use for a thanksgiving recipe. This is a free event to attend, and no registration is required. Each kit will include:

  • Information about the featured spice, its history with a few facts;
  • two simple recipe suggestions;
  • Small packet of the featured spice to try.

This month you will learn about is Turmeric. Spice of the month kits are free, but supplies are limited. Please, only one kit per household. A guest speaker is still to be determined. No registration required. Spices are generously donated by Halal Import Food Market in Arlington.

Art for the Holidays

The College Town Renaissance Center (located at 1209 W. Abram St. in Arlington) and The Upstairs Gallery (located at 1038 W. Abram St. in Arlington) present Art for the Holidays 12:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022. Come enjoy an afternoon of gift ideas and merriment. The event is in conjunction with the Arlington Art Dealers Association

Day Trip – Dinner Detective 

The Dinner Detective is an experience unlike any other put on by the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department! Come enjoy an amazing murder mystery show paired with a fantastic four-course plated dinner 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022 at Elzie Odom Athletic Center. From the very beginning, actors will be hidden in the audience that are not dressed in costume. Anyone in the room can end up being part of the show, including YOU! Fee includes the cost of the event, as well as transportation to and from Elzie Odom Athletic Center to The Dinner Detective in Dallas. This event is for ages 21+. Click here to register!

Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas
