To ensure that all Mavericks can invite friends and family to celebrate and enjoy a first-class graduation experience, commencement ceremonies will move to Globe Life Field for fall 2022, spring 2023 and fall 2023.

The University of Texas at Arlington is announcing an exciting development related to commencement ceremonies.

To ensure that all Mavericks can invite friends and family to celebrate and enjoy a first-class graduation experience, commencement ceremonies will move to Globe Life Field for fall 2022, spring 2023 and fall 2023.

UT Arlington first staged ceremonies at Globe Life Field in 2021 because its spaciousness and large capacity allowed people to remain socially distanced. The shift to Globe Life Field will enable UTA to serve more graduates and guests and allow for fewer ceremonies and event days while ensuring that each graduate has their spotlight moment on a big stage.

“Each term, our graduates take great pride in celebrating their milestone achievement—college graduation—with those who’ve supported, invested in and cheered them along the way,” said Lisa Nagy, vice president of student affairs at UTA.

With a heightened focus placed on the fall and spring commencement experiences, summer ceremonies will come to an end. Beginning in 2023, summer graduates will have the opportunity to participate in a fall ceremony.

“We hope you will join us in embracing this change and look forward to celebrating our new graduates at the premier venue in Arlington as they realize the culmination of their own dreams,” Nagy said.
