Texas Rangers Host New York Yankees In Four-Game Season-Ending Series, October 3-5, 2022

The Texas Rangers will return to Globe Life Field Monday, Oct. 3, 2022, for a four-game series against the A.L. East Division Champion New York Yankees, the team's final games of the 2022 50th anniversary season.

The Rangers and Yankees will open the series on Monday, Oct. 3, at 6:05 p.m. On Tuesday, Oct. 4, the teams will play a split doubleheader, with the day game beginning at 1:05 p.m., followed by the night contest at 7:05 p.m. The fourth and final game of the series will be played on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 3:05 p.m.

On Monday, the Texas Rangers Minor League Award winners will participate in an on-field awards ceremony. The Rangers will recognize the minor league Player of the Year - Evan Carter, Pitcher of the Year - Cole Ragans, Reliever of the Year - Chase Lee, Defender of the Year - Jonathan Ornelas, and True Ranger award-winner - Thomas Saggese.  

The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will host Medal of Honor recipient Jim McCloughan at Monday’s game. McCloughan will toss the ceremonial first pitch and participate in an on-field check presentation with the Rangers Foundation and American Airlines. Additionally, the Foundation will donate all proceeds from the Texas 2 Split 50/50 Raffle to the National Medal of Honor Museum.

Hailey Kinsel, three-time Barrel Racing World Champion and three-time The American Barrel Racing Champion, will also toss the ceremonial first pitch before Monday’s game. On Tuesday, Oct. 4, (game to be determined) former Rangers catcher Jose Trevino will be presented with the Texas Rangers 2021 Harold McKinney Good Guy Award from the Dallas-Fort Worth Baseball Writers chapter.

The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month during Tuesday’s day game. Texas Rangers players and coaches will wear purple shirts during pre-game practice, and the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will donate all proceeds from the Texas 2 Split 50/50 Raffle to SafeHaven of Tarrant County.

Before Tuesday’s evening game, Texas Rangers Youth Academy athlete Julie Gonzalez will be recognized for advancing to the national finals of Major League Baseball’s Pitch, Hit & Run competition. Gonzalez is the first Rangers Youth Academy athlete to advance to the finals and will compete before game two of the MLB World Series later this month.
