The 4th Annual Arlington Field of Honor will kick-off at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 at Veterans Park, located at 3600 W. Arkansas Lane. The event this year will run from Sept. 3 through Sept. 11.

The Arlington Field of Honor began in 2019 to commemorate the victims of the 9/11 attacks. 911 flags will fly and are able to be purchased by individuals to honor or memorialize active-duty military, veterans, fallen service men and women, first responders, and heroes in our lives. At the end of the weeklong event, the flags that are purchased can be picked up or shipped to the purchaser. All proceeds benefit the Arlington Veterans Park Foundation. Arlington Field of Honor Co-Chair, David Curtis, began supporting the event in 2020 as way to show his appreciation for the front-line workers during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Listening to people’s stories about the heroes in their lives gave me a much deeper appreciation for what people endure every day in hospitals, fire stations, law enforcement, and our military. I knew I wanted to be more involved with this organization after that first year to help people honor their heroes," Curtis said.

This year, we are excited to announce a bigger opening day event which includes:

  • Opening ceremony with guest speaker Mayor Jim Ross at 9 a.m.
  •  Live performances by local performers beginning at 11 a.m.
  •  Food trucks
  •  Headlining musical performance by Ariel Hutchins at 8 p.m.
  •  Spectacular drone show at 8:45 p.m.

This event is open to all ages and will be a great day to spend at Veterans Park.

If you are interested in volunteering, we are still looking for help to set-up the field on Friday Sept. 2, be docents during the week, assist in taking the field down on Sept. 12, and help with flag pick up during the week of Sept. 12. See the volunteer sign up on our webpage.

If your company is interested in becoming a sponsor, you still have time. We have levels that fit all budgets. Any sponsor level at the $2,500 or higher level will receive tickets to the VIP tent on Opening Day. Email [email protected] or see our website for more information.

Please consider purchasing a flag to honor a hero in your life by going to www.arlingtonfoh.org or visiting the Field of Honor tent during the event.
