Residents Invited to Participate in Two Upcoming FY23 Budget Town Hall Meetings

The proposed $595 million Fiscal Year 2023 operating budget includes a recommendation for one of the largest property tax rate reductions in the city’s history and increases for residents’ water rate, the garbage collection rate and stormwater fee. Proposals for next fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1, include investments in public safety, city streets, buildings and other public infrastructure, and support for Arlington’s award-winning parks and recreation amenities. Residents can learn more about the City of Arlington's $595 million proposed Fiscal Year 2023 operating budget at two upcoming town hall meetings. These in-person budget town hall meetings are scheduled for:

  • 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24 at the Arlington Police Department South District Service Center, 1030 SW Green Oaks Blvd.
  • 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29 at the Council Chamber, Arlington City Hall, 101 W. Abram St.

Public Works to Begin $6.6 Million Street Reclamation and Miscellaneous Concrete Program

The Public Works Department will soon begin work on the $6.6 million 2022 Street Reclamation and Miscellaneous Concrete Program to improve the ride quality and strength of portions of eight streets throughout Arlington. Construction, which is scheduled to begin in November 2022, will take place at the following locations and is expected to be completed in October 2023:

  • Carter Drive (SH303 to Park Row Drive)
  • Cochise Drive (Fielder Road to Davis Drive)
  • Meandering Way (Brown Boulevard to Midway Road)
  • Bluffview Court (Meandering Way to south end of street)
  • Midway Road (Boardwalk Drive to Bluffview Court)
  • Meandering Way Court (Meandering Way to east end)
  • Canyon Ridge Court (Brown Boulevard to north end)
  • Knight Street (Cooper Street to west end)

$150,000 Available Through Arlington's 2023 Neighborhood Matching Grant Program

The City of Arlington is pleased to announce another Neighborhood Matching Grant call for projects. Through this year’s program, $150,000 is available to fund improvement projects that will beautify and enhance the public spaces and strengthen neighborhoods throughout The American Dream City.

Neighborhoods can apply for up to $25,000 for their projects, which could include public art, beautification, landscaping, entrance signs, sidewalks, traffic calming or other neighborhood capacity building improvements. Applications are due by Friday, Nov. 4. Learn more and apply.

New Water Utility Bill Assistance Announced for Arlington Residents

Arlington Water Utilities customers who meet income requirements can now apply for assistance at TexasUtilityHelp.com. Assistance may be paid up to the total amount due for payment in order to reconnect water service, avoid disconnection of water service, or for a current bill.
