Dogs of the week

Dog of the Week – Meet Luther

This one-year-old male Pit Bull Terrier mix is red, black and white in color and weighs 34 pounds. Even though rains are in the local forecast (finally!) nothing can dampen the desire that this dog has to be adopted. Luther has been in the shelter for about three weeks and while his kennel in the shelter is in a great spot to be seen--he seems to be skipped over (sad face). With his "expressive" ears he does bring smiles to the passersby. He is a free spirited dog that loves being with people. During first meeting he might be a little "hyper"--not unusual for shelter dogs--but he calms down. Luther does walk well on a leash and loves being rewarded with treats. Considered a VIP pet due to his length of time in the shelter, he is available at a reduced adoption fee. Don't miss an opportunity to visit with Luther and check out those ears! Meet Luther at Dog Adoptions (DA) 23, his ID number is A50800823.

Second Dog of the Week – Meet Zahviara

This two year old female Labrador Retriever mix is black and white in color and weighs 58 pounds. Labradors are one of the most popular breeds for families to own. Perhaps it's because they have such sweet and goofy personalities, but that comes with above average "smarts" as well. Zahviara loves to seek, find, and retrieve from slippers to toys to dropped table scraps-she will find them all. You may not know where these items are/were but she knows. After burning off pent up energy, she is ready to stroll calmly with you. Other dogs seem to interest her so she might do well with other canine companions. Consider bringing your other canine friends to do a fence meet and greet with this dog. As a another dog that has been in the shelter for a while, Zahviara is a VIP pet with a reduced adoption fee. Meet Zahviara in Dog Adoptions (DA) 19, her ID number is A50757550.

Adoption fees include all core vaccinations, alteration, microchip and 30 days free pet insurance.
