Dog of the Week – Meet James

Sometimes referred to as "Jesse James", this four and half year-old male Shepherd mix is brown and tan in color and weighs 36 pounds. James has been in the shelter for over forty days (and forty nights!) and is waiting to celebrate his "independence" day with a new adoptive family that he can call his own. He is a very special canine who was part of a cruelty case, so he is really looking for a new lease on life. After warming up to you he is partial to being petted and loves a good rub. A visit outside finds him showing his inner child by joyfully frolicking. James loves sharing his time with staff members, volunteers or someone coming to see if he is the right pooch for their family. Surely there is a family match out there ready to adopt him. As a VIP pet, James has a reduced adoption fee so there is no excuse to wait for a better time to adopt. Meet James at Dog Adoptions (DA) 9, His ID number is A50228905.

Dog of the Week – Meet Vortex

Meet Vortex. Vortex is our 2nd chosen dog of the week. This nearly eight-month-old Pit Bull Terrier mix is solid black in color and weighs 25 pounds. Vortex is a "firecracker" of a dog, in a good way. He came in with a sibling that has already been adopted so he is really ready for his chance to leave the shelter. Having been through and treated for a case of mange, he is pleased to have his hair growing back so he can show off his "pittie PJ's" with sharks on them. Note that his demeanor is much sweeter than that of sharks. As a young dog, Vortex would probably be a good choice to grow up with kids or other dogs. As a VIP pet, Vortex is available at a reduced adoption fee. This sweet and fun pup is waiting for you to come select and adopt him. Meet Brownie in Dog Adoptions (DA) 5, his ID number is A50455426.

Adoption fees include all core vaccinations, alteration, microchip and 30 days free pet insurance.
