Jump Into July With Arlington Parks’ Naturally Fun Events

Nothing says summer like fireworks and pool days! Mark your calendar for these upcoming July events with Arlington Parks and Recreation.

Light Up Arlington – Sunday, July 3

Celebrate Independence Day with live music, food trucks, and a spectacular fireworks display on Sunday, July 3 in Downtown Arlington! Festivities will be held from 6 - 10:30 PM, with the free fireworks display set to begin at 9:50 PM. This year's celebration, which encompasses 57 acres surrounding City Hall and the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, will includes some of DFW’s top musical acts, vendors, food trucks, and plenty of kid-friendly fun, including face painting and a bubble bus.

Sensory Swim – Saturday, July 9

Children with special needs, their caregivers, and families are invited to a fun-filled morning at Randol Mill Family Aquatic Center from 10 AM to 12 PM. Registration for this supervised swim is free for season pass holders or $5 per person without a pass. This event is limited to 100 attendees and is open to all ages.

Parents’ Night Out – Friday, July 15

Calling all parents, you deserve a nice evening out! Come drop off your children here at Cliff Nelson Recreation Center from 6-9 PM. Children will be busy enjoying awesome recreational activities throughout the night while you get to sit back and relax! Ages 5-12 are invited and the cost is $20 per child.

Beacon Skateboarding Clinic – Saturday, July 23

Come enjoy Arlington’s newest skate park and learn some basic skills and techniques of skateboarding! We will go over a few cool tricks as well. This clinic begins at 10 AM and will be taught by an experienced instructor in a safe and fun environment. Ages 5-12 are invited to come enjoy this unique monthly experience and the cost is $10 per child.

Christmas in July (55+) – Thursday, July 28

Who doesn’t like Christmas so much they want to celebrate it twice a year? Seniors are invited to join us for a jolly good time this July at East Library and Recreation Center from 1-3 PM! We’ll have a white elephant gift exchange along with some games and food. Don’t forget to dress up in your flip-flops and Santa hat and bring your wrapped gift to exchange! This event is free with a Senior Activity Pass. Pre-registration required.
