On Thursday, June 16, at approximately 10:08 a.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to a crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle in the 6600 block of West I-20 Highway.

The driver of a 2015 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling eastbound from Kennedale into Arlington on the I-20 service road in the inside lane.  A 2019 Honda CRV was making the U-turn under I-20 from the westbound service road to the eastbound service road. Once the SUV entered onto the eastbound service road it was struck from behind by the motorcycle.

The motorcycle driver, a 48-year-old female, was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.  The driver of the Honda CRV was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses stated the driver of the motorcycle was driving at a high rate of speed prior to the collision.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once the next of kin has been notified.
