The Arlington Police Department has made an arrest in connection to an April 2022 shooting at a residence that left two men deceased and one woman injured. The incident occurred at a home in the 5300 block of Ivy Hill Drive.

34-year-old Reid Rothenberg was taken into custody Thursday morning without incident. He was booked into the Arlington City Jail on one count of Capital Murder, one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and one count of Burglary of a Habitation.

Following a thorough investigation and review of the evidence, detectives were able to connect Mr. Rothenberg to the crime and believe he knew at least one of the victims.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victims as 84-year-old George Nitsche and 41-year-old Matthew Stuart. A 67-year-old female relative of the victims sustained non-life threatening injuries during the incident.

On Monday, April 11, 2022, shortly after midnight the Arlington Police Department responded to a report of shots fired at a residence in the 5300 block of Ivy Hill Dr.

Upon arrival, officers located two adults, a 41 year-old male and a 67 year-old female, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The female victim sustained non-life threatening injuries, however the 41 year-old male was later pronounced deceased by hospital staff.

A third victim, an 84 year-old male, was also located at the residence with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

All of the victims were members of the same family.

It is believed that an unidentified suspect forced entry into the residence and began shooting at the residents inside.

While investigation of this incident is ongoing, no arrests have been made.  At this time, however, investigators do not believe this was a random incident.
