Stomp Wars heads to College Park Center

Stomp Wars celebrates its 15th Anniversary Apr. 8-9, 2022 at College Park Center on the campus of the University of Texas at Arlington. The mission of Stomp Wars Global is to inspire youth and young adults to stomp down the negative barriers that plague our communities and build a new, positive future through the art of step. Stomp Wars was created when the founders witnessed the power stepping has over these kids and how beneficial it can be in their lives. Stepping has grown to become a college and career pathway for students through an extracurricular activity. Some students come from low-income backgrounds and face multiple barriers in life. Volunteer at The Big Event

The University of Texas at Arlington's biggest day of community service connects students with service projects across the DFW area. This year's day of service will be Saturday, Apr. 9, 2022. Service projects with run from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Afterwards, all volunteers are welcome to attend the Thank You Celebration in the West Mall from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., where we will have complimentary lunch, entertainment, and activities. North Texas Soccer Club hosts match at Choctaw Stadium

North Texas Soccer Club is set to host its second Major League Soccer NEXT Pro match 4:00 p.m., Saturday, Apr. 10, 2022, at Choctaw Stadium against Colorado Rapids 2. Established in June 2021 by Major League Soccer, the new professional league will complete an integrated player pathway from MLS NEXT through to MLS first teams. The new league will offer young players and experienced professionals the opportunity to develop and showcase their talents while competing for an MLS NEXT Pro championship. Gentle Yoga at the Arlington Museum of Art

Yoga meets art 11 a.m. Sunday, Apr. 10, 2022 at the Arlington Museum of Art. Join in for an immersive experience combining the tranquility of an art museum with the practice of yoga. Rangers return to Globe Life Field

Major League Baseball returns to The American Dream city Monday, Apr. 11, 2022, as your hometown Rangers battle the Colorado Rockies. First pitch for Opening Day at Globe Life Field is set for 3:05 p.m. Ticket information can be found here

Theatre Arlington returns with Sister Act

After extension renovation, Theatre Arlington is back and presenting Sister Act by Music by Alan Menken, Lyrics by Glenn Slater, Book by Cheri & Bill Steinkellner. Directed by Steven D. Morris. When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be a found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but, in doing so, blows her cover. Soon, the gang is giving chase, only to find them up against Deloris and the power of her newly found sisterhood. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, Sister Act is reason to rejoice. The show runs until Friday, Apr. 15, 2022. Ticket information can be found here

The Kindness Project Kicks Off with Arlington Public Library

The Arlington Public Library invites you to care for yourself and your community by joining us in a month-long celebration of Kindness with The Kindness Project. Pick up your Kindness Kit that includes a copy of Channel Kindness: Stories of Kindness and Community by The Born This Way Foundation Reporters and Lady Gaga, a compilation of projects initiated by people inspired to make a difference in their community. Supplies are limited. Share your thoughts or plan for action at one of our Coffee & Chats being held throughout our community in the month of April. Start small and be active by completing the Kindness Bingo Card. Enjoy our programs in Yoga, Tai Chi, Upcycled Art and Sustainable landscaping designed to explore kindness in its various forms, such as kindness to self, the environment and the community. End the month by attending the Community Care Fair on 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Apr. 23, 2022, at Bob Duncan Center to learn more how you can fill your community with KINDNESS! Kindness can mean different things. Kindness to yourself means taking care of your body and soul. Kindness to others can mean helping, volunteering, being active in your community. Kindness to the environment can mean recycling, sustainable habits and pick your channel, there is something for everyone. Join the Kindness Project and make a difference today!
