Brad Thompson

Levitt Pavilion Arlington’s free fall concert series continues this weekend! The outdoor concert venue's mid-September shows feature Texas-based The Wilder Blue, country/bluegrass/Americana, and an album release party for indie artist Brad Thompson. All shows begin at 7 p.m. with an opening act featuring local talent.

Friday, Sept. 17
The Wilder Blue featuring Zane Williams with opening act Tanner Sparks

Headliner: The Wilder Blue is multi-genre band that’s “busting down the fences that separate country, bluegrass, folk and acoustic rock.” Their debut album, “Hill Country,” features an intriguing collection of a dozen songs recorded in Austin and Houston and arranged/produced by the band members themselves.

Opening Act: Emerging artist Tanner Sparks is carrying on the tradition of what his musical family does best—writing songs and playing shows. His self-described “old fashioned” country music songs are influenced by artists of the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s, and are available widely on streaming platforms.

Saturday, Sept. 18
Jon Wolf with opening act Jesse Spradlin

Headliner: Jon Wolfe’s tunes are often seen on the Texas music charts, where he’s garnered six consecutive top ten country singles (including “Boots On a Dance Floor,” “That Girl In Texas,” and “Let A Country Boy Love You” ), making Jon a “must-see” act in the Texas touring scene.

Opening Act: Born into a “family of troubadours, ”Americana singer-songwriter Jesse Spradlin ‘s Virginia-influenced sound is described as ranging from “raspy down-home soul music to innocently sweet ballads.”

Sunday, Sept. 19
Brad Thompson with opening act Lannie Flowers

Headliner: In the “something different” category, the Levitt is pleased to host a concert-and-release party for indie singer-songwriter Brad Thompson, who is celebrating the debut of his latest album. A solo artist since the early ‘90s, Brad has recorded seven CDs and played at high-profile venues and listening rooms around Texas. His influences include Michael Hedges, Lyle Lovett, Jeff Buckley, Toad the Wet Sprocket and Counting Crows.

Opening Act: Singer-songwriter Lannie Flowers’s latest album breaks away from the power pop Lannie is usually noted for, and recounts the emotions of an aging rock and roller contemplating life after the road. Featuring Lannie’s most accomplished songwriting and arrangements to date, the lyrics read “…like a set of poems that highlight a universal message.”
