Make plans to pick up litter in your local park or neighborhood, attend an event to commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9-11, or start working on a 72-hour emergency kit to tied your family over when the unexpected happens. It’s a to-do list worthy of tackling.

Build a Disaster Supply Kit

September is National Preparedness Month. Arlington residents can take steps to be better prepared in the event of an emergency by assembling a disaster supply kit containing basic items that their household may need. Our Ask Arlington episode explains how easy it is to assemble these kits over time so that each person — and pet — in the household has enough food, water and other supplies to last at least 72-hours following a disaster.
