Arlington Field of Honor

Coinciding with the nation's 20th anniversary of the September 11th attack, Arlington Veterans Park will be the scene of a patriotic display Sept. 4-11, 2021, of 911 flags to call attention to and to honor those who serve or have served in our nation's military, local law enforcers, firefighters, first responders and those on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This amazing temporary display will be setup by hundreds of community volunteers on September 3rd and remain up until September 12th, “according to Clete McAlister, President of the Arlington Veterans Park Foundation. The event will display 911 flags on the field honoring all US veterans, police officers, firefighters or emergency medical personnel, past and present, for their service. Attendance is free to the public.
There will be a special Opening Ceremony at 10 a.m. Sept. 4 that will include live music, Don Graves and Jimmy Pollozani with a tribute to those who lost their lives on 9/11.

On Saturday, Sept. 11, the Levitt will help wrap up the week with a ticketed concert featuring Lee Greenwood and Deana Carter.

Prior to and during the event, flags are available for purchase for $40 online at www.arlingtonFOH.org or at the information booth during the event. Flags can be dedicated in honor or memory of a loved one.

Proceeds raised from the flag sales and sponsorships will be used by the Arlington Veterans Park Foundation for constructing veteran memorials in Veterans Park.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks.

• Sept. 3 - Volunteers needed to move the flags and set them up at Veterans Park

• Sept. 12 – Field take down and flag pick up.
