City to Begin Building Voter-Approved Continuous Sidewalk Along Park Row Drive Between Johnson Creek and Collins Street

The Public Works and Transportation Department is pleased to announce that a project to increase accessibility in Central Arlington is scheduled to begin this summer. Beginning in August, contractors will begin constructing a continuous pedestrian path on Park Row Drive from Johnson Creek to Collins Street.

Residents interested in learning more about this project are invited to participate in a virtual public construction briefing meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2021. Detailed information on how to join the meeting either online or via telephone is located on the “Public Meeting” tab of the project web page, www.arlingtontx.gov/parkrowsidewalks.

Funding for this project was approved by Arlington voters as part of the $160 million Street Improvements package included in the 2014 Bond Election. This project aligns with the City Council’s priorities to Enhance Regional Mobility and Champion Great Neighborhoods.
