City Service and Facility Update

Some City of Arlington facilities will remain closed and some services will continue to be unavailable on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021, because of the extreme winter weather conditions and to maximize energy savings.

The City assures the public that essential services, including police and fire, the 9-1-1 call center and street and water services, will continue to be operational. City Hall and Municipal Office Tower, Municipal Court, libraries and recreation centers, Animal Services Center, Water Utilities South Service Center and the landfill will remain closed on Wednesday, Feb. 17. The City’s transportation services, Via and Handitran, as well as curbside trash and recycling collection services will remain suspended Wednesday due to hazardous driving conditions. We appreciate your understanding as we work to keep our employees and the community safe during this emergency weather event.

Additionally, the Arlington Fire Department’s COVID-19 emergency mass vaccination site at Esports Stadium Arlington + Expo Center will remain closed this week until safer travel conditions prevail. Notifications with appointment confirmation will be sent out to eligible individuals when operations can safely continue. Please click here for FAQs about receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, especially if you are due for a second-dose shot this week.

Because of a power outage, the City’s government cable channel and the Action Center, the City’s information hotline at 817-459-6777, are currently not operational. Citizens who are seeking to make a non-emergency report can do so by using the free Ask Arlington app on their smartphone or by sending a message through Citibot, an interactive text messaging tool.
