COVID-19 Vaccine Update

The Arlington Fire Department provided more than 12,000 COVID-19 vaccine shots this week, bringing the total to approximately 60,000 first-dose and second-dose shots administered during the mass vaccination site’s first seven weeks of operation.

Arlington’s emergency mass vaccination site, which serves Tarrant County and 10 other surrounding counties and is designed to reduce the impact to the local hospital system, is located inside a large exhibit hall at Esports Stadium Arlington + Expo Center, 1200 Ballpark Way. The site will be closed this weekend and will also be closed Monday, Feb. 15 in observance of the Presidents’ Day holiday.

On Tuesday, Feb. 16 and Wednesday, Feb. 17, the Fire Department plans to provide first-dose shots to individuals who have confirmed appointment times from Tarrant County Public Health. The Fire Department will monitor weather and traffic conditions early next week and make adjustments to the site’s operating hours as necessary.

Then on Thursday, Feb. 18 and Friday, Feb. 19, the Department plans to provide second-dose shots to the 4,697 individuals who received their first vaccine at the site on Jan. 21 or Jan. 22. The vaccine site will remain open until the allotment provided to the City is depleted.

The Department will reach out by email and/or text message directly to those individuals with follow-up vaccination appointment information.

Individuals who receive confirmation of a second-dose appointment next week are asked to:

1. Bring their vaccine card given at the time of the first dose
2. Arrive within their appointment time frame

Additionally, individuals who received the first-dose vaccines at the Arlington site on Jan. 27 or later will be contacted by the Fire Department with information on when to return to the Esports Stadium Arlington + Expo Center. The Fire Department is scheduling second-dose vaccination dates as vaccine allotments are provided by the state.

Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams will host a telephone town hall meeting Feb. 18 to discuss the City's coronavirus response. Click here to learn more.
