The Arlington Baptist University Board of Directors elected Clifton McDaniel as the school’s 10th president earlier this month.

McDaniel, who previously served as Arlington Baptist University’s vice president, has served as the university’s Interim President for the past year. During his tenure as interim, the university has seen a significant increase in enrollment and there have been many needed upgrades to the historical campus. McDaniel has overseen numerous operational and policy changes in academics, student life, and chapel. Most notably, he has partnered ABU with Green Oaks Life Prep Academy, which aims to provide adults with intellectual disabilities opportunities to develop the skills they need for personal independence and employment.

McDaniel’s résumé shows a proven leader in the business and educational setting. He has served as a successful administrator at the high school level, having served as the academic department chair at Cedar Hill and Van Alstyne High Schools. He also served as athletic administrator at Van Alstyne and Iredell High Schools. McDaniel has also founded and runs a successful business in Alvarado, Texas.

Arlington Baptist University is a four-year university that currently offers 18 undergraduate degrees and four master’s degrees.
