Student watching online guitar lesson

Get started with that new guitar! Brush up on Bach! Learn the history of hip-hop!

Levitt Pavilion Arlington wants to get everyone's 2021 off to a great start with Learn With the Levitt, a free, online education collaboration with the University of Texas-Arlington Department of Music. The first two series are a weekly Thursday evening class on different music genres in January and a weekly Tuesday evening guitar basics class in January and February. The genre series includes a musically inspired grouping of special edition wines that can be purchased from Urban Alchemy. For every wine purchase, Urban Alchemy will donate a portion to support free music at the Levitt. Learn With the Levitt details are below.

Thursday, Jan. 14, 7:30 p.m.
Old World Meets New: Electronic Music and Pinot Noir

Explore what electronic music and pinot noir have in common, as they blend old world sophistication with new world approachability. Featured wines: Davis Bynum Pinot Noir, The Seeker Pinot Noir and Elouan Pinot Noir.

Thursday, Jan. 21, 7:30 p.m.
Improv with the Masters: Understanding Jazz and Red Blends

Just as a jazz musician improvises on a melody or harmony, winemakers improvise and innovate with red wine blends to create a once-in-a-lifetime performance. Featured wines: Sinners and Saints Red Blend, Alma Negra M. Blend and Lost Oak Texas Trio.

Thursday, Jan. 28, 7:30 p.m.
Misunderstood No More: Hip-Hop and Sparkling Wine for All

In an exciting, barrier-breaking hour, we discover how both sparkling wines and hip-hop rely on traditions to create wines and music that are exciting, outgoing, ambitious, and above all, approachably liberating for everyone. Featured wines: Tattainger Champagne, Poema Cava and Caposaldo Prosecco.
