Coronavirus Update

Many North Texas businesses must now reduce capacity after a sustained increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations. The reduction is a result of Governor Greg Abbott’s Executive Order 32.

Tarrant County is included in the state’s Trauma Service Area E, where for the last seven days, 15 percent or more of total hospital capacity has been COVID19 patients.

As a result, many businesses open at 75 percent capacity must now operate at 50 percent capacity. Affected businesses/services include:

  • Restaurants
  • Retail stores
  • Office buildings
  • Manufacturing facilities
  • Gyms/Fitness studios
  • Museums
  • Libraries

Hospitals in Trauma Service Area E, including Tarrant County, must also pause elective surgeries. Details for hospitals can be found in Governor Abbott’s Executive Order 31.

Businesses may return to 75 percent occupancy and elective surgeries may resume when COVID-19 hospitalizations fall below the 15 percent threshold for seven consecutive days.
