Public Meeting Notice

The second of a series of public input opportunities to help shape the City of Arlington's South Cooper Street Corridor Study is open from Dec. 8-22, 2020, including a virtual public meeting from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10. A dedicated project website with materials to review and easy methods to provide input is also available.

In January, the City of Arlington began work on the study, designed to improve transportation, enhance economic development, and position Cooper Street to help connect the broader Arlington community. After a pause at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the study is under way and slated for completion in spring 2021. Focusing on the section of Cooper Street from UTA Boulevard to Bardin Road south of Interstate 20, the study will develop a vision for the corridor and create an implementation plan to fulfill the vision.

In addition to the creation of a Community Advisory Committee, the City aims to gather valuable citizen and stakeholder input for the Corridor Study through online surveys, public meetings and other events.

The public input windows are designed to provide opportunities for citizens to participate in the process, provide input and review draft plan materials. All are invited to help shape the future of Cooper Street.
