On Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 9:44 p.m., officers were dispatched to a shooting in progress at an apartment complex in the 2500 block of Silverbrook Lane.

When officers arrived, they located two men who had been shot, one of which was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second individual who was shot was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive. 

Early investigation reveals that three individuals were involved in high risk activity, and one of them attempted to rob the other two. This resulted in all three parties firing weapons at each other. Two of the individuals were struck, killing one, and injuring the other. 

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified. 

At this point in the investigation, the homicide is considered to be justified. However, other charges are being applied to an individual involved.
