On Thursday, September 17, 2020 at approximately 3:36 p.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to a major crash involving a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the 900 block of West Division St.

The pedestrian was loading a vehicle from a car sales lot onto a car hauler that was parked in the center turn lane on Division Street across from the business. A van was traveling westbound on Division Street and struck the pedestrian who was standing on the side of the trailer.

The motorist who struck the pedestrian initially stopped and parked the van at a nearby business and was picked up by another person and left the scene without calling 9-1-1 or providing aid to the victim.

While officers were still working the scene, the driver who struck the pedestrian came back to the scene with a family member.

Investigators arrested the driver, identified as 37-year old Gabriel Hudson, and charged him with Failure to Stop and Render Aid. His booking photo is attached to this release.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased on Saturday, September 19, 2020.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been identified.
