To advance the public health goal of limiting face-to-face meetings (also called “social distancing”) to slow the spread of COVID-19, this informational meeting will be held virtually. Members of the public who are interested in learning more about the project are invited to participate in the meeting either online or via telephone. Information on how to join the meeting, either online or via a telephone, are provided in the Public Meeting tab of the Medlin Drive Sidewalk Project information web page.

Since 2016, the Public Works and Transportation Department has constructed over 40,000 linear feet of sidewalk and invested $2.6 million in pedestrian sidewalk safety and infrastructure improvements. Funding for this project was approved by Arlington voters as part of the $160 million street improvements package in the 2014 Bond Election and aligns with the City Council’s priorities to Enhance Regional Transportation and Champion Great Neighborhoods.

Construction is anticipated to begin in early August and be completed within 120 days.

Residents can learn more about roadway, drainage, and water projects currently under construction throughout Arlington using the City’s interactive Street Tracker map. This tool integrates live data so that up-to-date project information is always available.
