Coronavirus Update

The Arlington Public Library is continuing to transition service models in the coming weeks. The Library remains an important resource for Arlington’s educational and entertainment needs and is committed to providing a range of safe services to the community. Within the guidelines set by Governor Greg Abbott and the Arlington City Council, the Library is working towards an eventual, safe reopening.

While virtual, telephone and curbside services remain available, Library locations will remain closed to the public.

“We are adapting as the situation changes, always aiming to provide the best service possible to our community,” says Director of Libraries Norma Zuniga.

Curbside item pickup has been offered at all locations since April 20. Beginning May 2, curbside pickup is expanding to include Saturdays. This service will now be available Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at all locations.

Book returns at all locations are open 24 hours a day. Late fees are not being charged while Library locations are closed, but patrons can return items if they desire. All items are quarantined for 72 hours before being made available for curbside pickup.

Phone service remains available. Patrons can get help with their library account or digital items like ebooks at (817) 459-6900. Phone service is offered Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Digital content such as free ebooks, audiobooks, magazines and more are available to Arlington Public Library cardholders.

Beginning Monday, May 4, remote printing with curbside pick up will be available.

Visit the Library online for free virtual programming for all ages. From digital storytimes for young children to interactive workshops for adults, many of the Library’s regular events are now being offered online.
The Library continues to plan for an eventual reopening, taking into account the safety of both patrons and staff.

“We look forward to fully opening our doors again, but in the meantime, we are grateful to serve our patrons in the safest and most efficient methods possible,” says Zuniga.
