Residents are still permitted to engage in outdoor activity, provided that individuals comply with social distancing requirements of six feet, under Tarrant County and Arlington's new Stay Home, Work Safe executive order from March 24, 2020.

At this time, all City of Arlington parks, skate parks, dog parks, hike and bike trails, municipal golf courses and Lake Arlington remain open. Visitors are reminded that they must be in compliance with all social distancing requirements. Everyone has a social responsibility to keep our community safe and healthy.

We recognize that parks, trails and open spaces are the community’s primary outdoor opportunity, and can continue to be used in a safe manner that allows people to enjoy the mental and physical health benefits these spaces provide. In all instances, we recommend residents follow local, state and national ordinances and guidelines regarding the use of these spaces and recognize that these vary from community to community.

The recent executive order also prohibits all public or private gatherings of any number of people occurring outside a single household. We discourage group sports activities at city parks that would place you closer than six feet to the other players. For more information, please visit www.arlingtontx.gov/coronavirus.

Public access to playground equipment and sports courts is being evaluated continuously, and the disregard of Social Distancing may result in the closure of specific park amenities.

At this time, park operations staff is sanitizing all playgrounds twice daily. Park visitors are encouraged to supplement these cleaning cycles by using personal sanitizing wipes to clean playground surfaces after use. Park restrooms and drinking fountains remain closed.
