Joshua Santoyo, a senior on Bowie High School’s track and cross country teams, has been selected as the City of Arlington’s Student-Athlete of the Month for February 2020.

Santoyo runs the 800 meter, 1600 meter and 3200 meter races in track as well as competing in cross country, where he made it to regionals his sophomore year.

“He’s always trying to do better,” said Sammy Epps, Bowie Boys Track and Cross Country Coach. “He’s never satisfied with the status quo. That’s the thing I like about him best, he’s always trying to better himself.”

Santoyo, whose favorite subject is science, is enrolled at Arlington ISD’s Fire Academy at the Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center and plans on being a firefighter.
