The Arlington Municipal Court will be conducting a Warrant Resolution Drive from Feb. 14 to March 8, 2020, focusing on anyone with outstanding warrants and encouraging the public to take the necessary steps to resolve their cases with the Court.

Individuals who are concerned that they have an outstanding City of Arlington warrant, or have received a violation and are unsure of what options are available, are encouraged to contact the Arlington Municipal Court.

Arlington continues to be a Safe Harbor Court, which means that persons may appear to resolve their outstanding cases without the fear of being arrested. If a defendant chooses to plead “Not Guilty” to a charge they have not previously plead on, they must appear to post the required bond and obtain a trial setting. Defendants may be eligible for alternative methods to discharging their fine and costs.

If a defendant does not have sufficient resources to immediately pay all or part of the fine and costs they may request extensions of time to pay, start a payment plan, or request community service to discharge all or part of their outstanding obligations. The Arlington Municipal Court will once again waive the collection agency fees on warrants paid in full during this period as an additional incentive for individuals to resolve their warrants.

Notices have been mailed to defendants with outstanding Arlington warrants within the past three years notifying them that they have an active warrant and to contact the Court before being arrested. The Arlington Municipal Court encourages individuals to resolve their outstanding warrants promptly to avoid being arrested during the warrant enforcement week of March 2 to March 8, 2020. Individuals with warrants in jurisdictions other than Arlington should contact those jurisdictions for information about how to clear those warrants
