Globe Life Park ready for Renegades

The XFL Renegades are the newest professional sports team to call Arlington home. The team kicks off its season Sunday at Globe Life Park against St. Louis. Whether you'll be watching the historic event in person or at home (ESPN, 4 p.m.), here's what you need to know before the Renegades' first game.

The Rules Have Changed

The XFL put its own twist on the game, in an effort to speed up the action and add excitement. For example, there will be no kicking plays after a touchdown. Instead, teams will have to run a play from the 2, 5 or 10-yard line, worth 1, 2 or 3 points, respectively.

Teams will also be allowed to throw a second forward pass as long as the ball hasn't crossed the line of scrimmage.

Globe Life Park Has a New Look

For years, Globe Life Park was home to the Texas Rangers. But with the team moving across the street to the new Globe Life Field, that opened up a host of options for the ballpark. Crews have been hard at work turning a world-class baseball venue into a world-class football field. (Globe Life Park will also host North Texas Soccer Club matches this season.)

Expect Some Familiar Faces

If you're a football fan in Texas, you will recognize some of the names and faces on the Renegades roster. Former University of Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops came out of retirement to lead the team. Stoops ranks among the top 25 college football coaches with the most wins.

What to Know for Game Day

Tickets are still available including season tickets and single-game tickets. Tickets for Sunday's season opener start at $57.

The gates at Globe Life Park will open 90 minutes before kickoff. The league asks guests to use clear bags to expedite the entry process, or leave the bags at home.

Parking is available in lots B, C, D, L, M and N. Spaces range from $20-$30. You'll save $5 if you pay with a credit card.

Renegade Road (the team's official tailgating zone) is located on the west side of the stadium on Nolan Ryan Expressway, near Texas Live!. All fans are welcome to attend — no ticket required. The party starts three hours before kickoff.

Go check out the reconfigured Globe Life Park and cheer on our newest hometown team.
